He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Sr. Burns and Freda Mae Burns (Porter); his wife Elizabeth "Liz" Chappell; and his brother Blackie Raymond Burns (Danny Burns). He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Robare and Debra Kay Owens; his granddaughters, Jennifer Riley, Sarah Semones, Adrianna Tomljanovich and Ashley Owens; and his sisters, Mary Saatkamp (Kenneth) of Sandoval, Kay Cain (Clayton) of Patoka and Pat Bryan (Bill) of Sandoval. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
