He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Huels and Clara Huels (Krebs); his wife Kathryn Vercellino; his siblings, Cecilia Wiedle (Herman), Virginia Sprehe (Albert), Bernard Huels and Robert Huels; his brother-in-law Denny Coleman; and his nephew Philip Coleman.
He is survived by: his sons, Dr. Lawrence Huels (Eileen) of Alton, David Huels (Karen) of Bloomington and Dr. Michael Huels (Lety) of Alton; his grandchildren, Marc (Shadrah), Eric (Hope), Timothy, Abigail and Jessica; his great grandchildren, Kaydence and Andrea; his sister Olive Gray (Don) of St Louis, MO; and his sisters-in-law, Jane Huels of Breese and Angela Coleman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
