He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Tom, Jean Marshall and Becky Rouse; his cousin Jared Kelch; and his uncle John Hoeniges.

He is survived by: his parents, William Rouse and Teresa Rouse (Marshall); his son Levi Rouse; his sister Whitney Rouse; and his grandfather William Rouse Sr.. He is also survived by three nieces.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made in Matthews name to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
