He was predeceased by: his parents, Miles Franklin and Esther Loretta Slightom (Whitfield); his wife Ruby Roberson; his siblings, Donald Slightom, Dean Slightom, Donnis Pettijohn, Dwight Slightom, Dwayne Slightom, Darrell Slightom, Cora Wolff, Shirley Carroll and Carol Boehme; and his great grandchild Grayson Junk.
He is survived by: his daughters, Patricia Brooks (Tony) of Greenville, IL, Pamela Volentine (Don) of Litchfield, IL, Paulette Prange (Denny) of Litchfield, IL, Penny Grosenheider (Rod) of Litchfield, IL and Peggy Wise (Craig) of Springfield, IL; and his grandchildren, Megan, Aaron, Kim, Dale, Josh, Jake, Joe, Holly and Tommy. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- granddaughter.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the ST. Jude's Children Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
