He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Spangler and Georgia Spangler (Hunter); his wife Judith A. Gross; and his siblings, Helen Fones, Pearl Kessinger, Linda Gibbs, Albert and Lee Spangler.

He is survived by: his children, Betsey Rogers (Chris) of Carlinville, IL and Britt Spangler (Kimberly) of Albuquerque, NM; his grandchildren, Caleb Spangler, Collin Spangler, Madalyn Rogers and Maxwell Rogers; and his great grandchild Dax Spangler.
