She was predeceased by: her parents, James M. Thompson and Annie M. Thompson (Williams); her stepdaughter Carol Elaine Scheldt (Varner); her siblings, Alan Thompson, Marie Young and Christine Foster; and her parents-in-law, Andrew Varner, Ruth Whiteside, Edward Varner and Marjorie Bryant.
She is survived by: her husband Ernest C. Varner; her son-in-law Ralph Scheldt of Carlinville; her granddaughter Elizabeth Wright (Luke) of Bella Vista, AR; and her great grandchildren, Caroline and Katie Jo Wright. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
