It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Allen Dingus of Carlinville, Illinois, born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, who passed away on May 30, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Estes and Lelia Jane Stubblefield Dingus; his wife Mary L. Dingus; his son Roy Lee Dingus; and his siblings, Mary Evelyn Dorton Ragland, James W. Dingus and Earl Lee Dingus.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Dingus (Elizabeth) of Carlinville, IL and Robin Knauss (Brad) of Corryton, TN; his stepdaughter Maribel Gibson Moore (John) of Brighton, IL; and his grandchildren, James Dingus, Dwayne Grubb, Devin Dingus, Wendy Unverzagt, Andrea Moore, Misty Tate, Star Dingus and Brooke Dingus. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
