He was predeceased by: his parents, Lena Thomas Horton and Robert Louis Horton; and his sisters, Ruby Davis, Roberta Allen, Mary Erker and Betty Wells.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Horton of Carlinville, IL; his children, Denise Watkins (Jimmy) of Stoneville, NC, David Horton (Pamela) of Groveland, IL, Dana Tieman (Marty) of Carlinville, IL, Darren Horton (Laura) of Williamsville, IL and Doug Horton of Carlinville, IL; and his brother Louis Horton of Annandale, MN. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, one great grandchild.
