It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley White of Carbondale, Illinois, born in Elkville, Illinois, who passed away on October 18, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ross Rees and Phyllis Rees (Ford); her husband Calvin White; her great grandchild Brayden Galloway; her sisters, Sarah Palmer and Bonnie Copeland (Stanley); her in-laws, James White, Frank White (Carolyn), Thelma Blumenstock (Howard), Sarah Jane and Mary Elaine Stewart; her daughter-in-law Tanda White; and her pet Fez.
She is survived by: her children, Michael White (Wendy) of Elkville, Larry White (Julia) of DeSoto, Karen Agee (Bill) of Centralia, Sharon Lee (George) of Carbondale and Terri McCarthy (Charlie) of DeSoto; her sister Arlene Wells (Harold) of Eureka, MO; and her sister-in-law Ruth Bowlby of De Soto. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Shirley's name to Murphysboro Church of the Nazarene and will be accepted at the church.
