She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Newborgh and Gertrude Newborgh (Hjelkrem); her husband Rev. Gerald N. Kissell; and her brother Arthur Newborgh. She is survived by: her children, Paul D. Kissell of Carbondale and Ann E. Mays of Carbondale; and her sister Barbara Antos of Downers Grove.
Memorials may be made in Ruth's name to the Saint Andrew's Lutheran Church and Campus Center at the University of Illinois or Epiphany Lutheran Church. Donations will be accepted at the church.
