He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Anton and LaVerne Anne Hamberg (Samp). He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Hamberg; his daughter Felicia Hamberg; his grandchildren, James, Ruby and Robert Acree; his sister Susan Jones (Steve); his cousin LaVerne Marshall; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Ann Myers (Jeff), Allan Masterson (Peg), Dennis Masterson (Becky) and Gerald Masterson (Diane). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to Friends of Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge.
