He is survived by: his wife Kathy (Kathy); his children, Dan Schimpf (Andrea) of St. Louis, MO, Darren Hartsock (Lauren) of Celina, TX and Wendy Neal (Mike) of Belleville, IL; his grandchildren, Bryan Throgmorton of Belleville, IL, Makenzie Frazier (Jeremy) of Smiths Station, AL, Ashleigh Turner (Chris) of Hendrix, OK, Brooke Foskey (Ladd) of Van Alstyne, TX, Scott Throgmorton of Belleville, IL, Erin Schimpf of St. Louis, MO, Grace, Jessica, Michael Ratermann of St. Louis, MO, Katelyn, Janie, William, Harley Harbour of Frisco, TX, Katie and Daniel Neal (Kenzie) of Belleville, IL; and his great grandchildren, Gunnar, Wyatt, Eli, Calla of Smiths Stations, AL, Aidan, Colten, Jackson Turner of Hendrix, OK and Cory Neal of Belleville, IL.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home - Old (31 Memorial Dr, Murphysboro, IL 62966). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the St. Andrew Catholic Church (724 Mulberry St, Murphysboro, IL 62966). A burial was held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at the St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery (724 Mulberry St, Murphysboro, IL 62966).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Ondessonk and/or the Children's Advocacy Center of Williamson and Franklin County.
