With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Ray Stearns of Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on January 16, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Stearns and Mabel Stearns (Lipe); his grandson Travis Fulmer; his great grandchild Cassi Tiffin; his siblings, Richard Stearns, Randy Stearns, Frank Stearns, Lyda Horn, Lela Roberts and Wilma Stearns; and also John Stearns.
He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Stearns; his children, Fred Stearns (Paula), Gary Stearns (Violet), Donna Fulmer (John) and Cynthia Popejoy (Mark); and his siblings, Tom Stearns (Donna), Harry Stearns, George Stearns (Linda), Denny Stearns, Betty King (Gilbert), Carol Forbes, Juanita Stein, Rosetta Casey, Debbie McNiel and Nanusha Hamond. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
