It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phil Smith of Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles "Charlie" Smith and Mary Imogene Schumacher Smith; his children, Kimberly Smith and Phillip Smith; his brother Paul Smith (Joan); and his pet Bo Man of Carbondale, IL..
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Smith of Carbondale, IL; his daughter Ami Bowen (Mike) of Waynesville, NC; his stepdaughter Kathy Alleroth (Brad); his granddaughter Haley Dooley (Brian) of Carbondale, IL; his siblings, Penny Smith of Murphysboro, Pam Rands (Gordon) of Macomb, IL and Perry Smith of Elkville, IL; and his pet Murphy. He is also survived by his family, friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home (112 S Poplar St, Carbondale, IL 62901). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Phil's name to Shriners Children's via Walker Funeral Home.
