We are sad to announce that on May 15, 2022 we had to say goodbye to Lewis Edwin Akers of Carbondale, Illinois, born in Moline, Illinois. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Akers and Louise Akers (Carahan); and his sister Margaret Akers. He is survived by: his wife Judy Akers; his children, Matthew, Michael, Lisa, Lori and Cassandra; and his grandchildren, Justin, Jeffrey, Tyler, Zachary, Dakota, Trayten, Mykol, Cheyenne, Autumn, Makayla, Mariah, Ali and Samantha. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Lewis's name to Scout Troop 133 for future camp scholarships and projects. Donations made be to Troop 133 c/o Meredith Funeral Home; 300 S. University Avenue; Carbondale, IL 62901.
