It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Alice Barringer of Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on October 19, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Girtman and Eviah Girtman (Walker); her husband James "Curtis" Barringer; her son-in-law Dallas Maze; her sister Mary Lee Loback (Charles); her grandson Wesley Maze (Curtis); and also, Henry and Alene Barringer.
She is survived by: her children, Marissa Sue Webb (Bill), Curtis Dean Barringer (Holly), Rhonda Jean Maze, Roger Lynn Barringer (Becky Hale) and Melinda Alice Zoeckler (Rob); her grandchildren, Nicki Steinsultz (Jarrett), Matthew Webb (Heather), Courtney Penrod (Clayton), Faith Barringer, Corban Barringer (Bryanna), Katie Beth Barringer, Caleb Barringer, Jamie Malone (Patrick), Meagan Cato (Caleb), Madyson Ellis (Jacob), Garrett Barringer (Jacqueline), Eli Barringer, Ashley Barringer, Brenley Barringer, Brandi Teca (Payton), Dusty McCuan, Mallory Zoeckler and Natalie Zoeckler; her sister-in-law Betty Newbold; her nieces, Eva Prater and Kim Jones; and also, Dustin and Dacota Knopp. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to Cedar Grove Cemetery in Buncombe and will be accepted at the funeral home.
