With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Raymond Hayes in Carbondale, Illinois, born in Danville, Illinois, who passed away on March 24, 2023 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hayes and Evelyn Sims; and his sister Susan Romine. He is survived by: his wife Melanie Hayes; his sister June Hayes; his brother-in-law Mark Oshinski; his niece Kathleen Oshinski; his brother-in-law John Romine; and his nephew John Michael Romine.

Memorials may be made in Jim's name to the Nature Conservancy.
