She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucius E. Jones and Lydia Jones (Scheffel); her husband Robert D. Downey; her son Gary; and her sisters, Bernice Kurtz and Ethel Cunningham.
She is survived by: her daughter Karen S. Downey of Carbondale; her nephew D. Alan Cunningham of Alabama; and her nieces, Lisa Pope of Kansas, Beth Klutts of Kansas and Paula Andres of Kansas.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Carbondale and will be accepted at the church.
