She was predeceased by: her father Michael Charek; and her son Christopher Thomas. She is survived by: her mother Ingeborg Charek (Russek) of Cape Girardeau; her husband Robert Thomas of Carbondale; her children, Howard Thomas (Cheryl) of Carterville and Heather Newgaard (Chris) of Mt. Juliet, TN; her grandchildren, Harrison Thomas of Nashville, TN, Brennen Thomas of Carterville, Jackson and Isla Newgaard of Mt Juliet, TN.; her siblings, Nicholas Charek (Roswitha) of St Johns, FL, Michael Charek (Janice) of Portland, ME and Ingrid Walker (Tim) of Tallahassee, FL; and her nephew Nathan Charek. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and/or Boskydell Baptist Church.
