It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elden Ray Shaffner (Carbondale, Illinois), born in Robinson, Illinois, who passed away on April 12, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Shaffner and Anna Jean Shaffner (McCollum); his brothers, Stanley Shaffner and Gerald Shaffner; and his siblings-in-law, David Collier (Jim), Linda Shaffner (Reynolds) and Betty Shaffner (Geoff).
He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly (Michael Maddox) and Penny (William Burnside); his grandchildren, Nathanael Maddox and Kara Burnside; and his siblings, Marilyn Collier (Shaffner) of Martinsville, Illinois, Kenneth, Julene Shaffner (Cline) of West Union, Illinois, Sharon Shaffner (Coryell) of West Union, Illinois and Myron Shaffner of West Union, Illinois.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made in Elden's name to Union Hill Christian Church or Rowan Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
