It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dick Carlisle of Carbondale, Illinois, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 26, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin M. Carlisle and Julia Mary Carlisle (Houser); his wife Donna Jean Barrett; his grandson Jason Carlisle; and his brother John Houser.

He is survived by: his children, Benjamin Carlisle (Suzanne) of Centertown, John Carlisle (Debbie) of Lakeland, Florida and Julia Arnold (Patrick) of Columbia, Illinois; his grandchildren, Nicole Carlisle of Centertown, Jacob Carlisle (Adri) of Jefferson City, Cody Carlisle of Minot, Jace Carlisle of Lakeland and A. J. Arnold of St. Louis; his great grandchildren, Karlee, Gideon, Logan and Cameron Carlisle; and his siblings, David Houser (Adriana) of Houston, James Houser (Terri) of Paducah, Kentucky and Judy Grimm (Johnny) of Ledbetter, Kentucky. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

He was a skilled & talented craftsman & outdoorsman. I have a lot of good memories from being around him over these last years after his retirement. I learned a lot from him about deer hunting and guns. He was a very interesting person to talk to and always had great stories. I have many fond memories of him.
