With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Aaron Basta of Carbondale, Illinois, born in Marion, Illinois, who passed away on December 13, 2022 at the age of 42. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Don and Evelyn Powell. He is survived by: his parents, Melody Ann Rindfuss (Powell) of Carterville and Robert Rindfuss; his brothers, Rob Rindfuss of Crainville, Matt Basta of Seagoville, Randy Rindfuss (Christina) of Crab Orchard, Michael Tellor (Alysha) of DeSoto and Jacob Tellor of Mogadore, Ohio; and his pet Charles. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews.
He was an animal and nature lover who especially loved the mountains, having fulfilled his dream of hiking along the Appalachian Trail in 2021 after covid interrupted his hike in 2020.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
