Brian Scott Yates Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Brian Scott Yates of Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on November 16, 2024, at the age of 48, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Willard, Anna Faye Holden of Carterville, Wilburn and Ruby G. Yates of Cobden; his aunt Elizabeth Curtsinger; his cousin Scott Cavins Holden; and his brother-in-law Mark Basolo.
He is survived by: his children, Gavin Scott Yates of Anna, Kendal Nicole Yates and Brayden Tyler Yates of Herrin; his wife Julie Brown; his parents, Dale Yates and Diana Yates of Herrin; his sister Faith Basolo; his nieces and nephews, Ava and Keaton Basolo of Cambria; his godparents, James and Pat Reid of Carterville; his stepsons, Caleb Snyder (Marie), Dalton Brown (Abby) and Dustin Brown; and his grandson Noah Snyder. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at 11:00 AM at the Van Natta Funeral Home (427 S Park Ave, Herrin, IL 62948). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "Herrin High School Athletic Department" for an athletic scholarship in Brian's memory, which will be established at a later date.
