He was predeceased by: his siblings, Korea and Hyun-Ki. He is survived by: his daughters, Elaine, Mirena and Serena; his wife Dale Budslick; and his stepchildren, BJ and Jennifer. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Professor Alan Hyun-Oak Kim Scholarship in care of the SIU Foundation or to other charitable organization of choice.
