He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred "Leroy" Scott and Betty Coleman Scott; his brother Bob; and his father-in-law Larry Theis. He is survived by: his wife Joline Theis; his children, Tonya King (Josh) of East Moline, Lawrence "Scotty" Scott (Katie Nguyen) of Chicago and Sara Johnson (Kyle) of New Hope, MN; his grandchildren, Caylee King, Colton King, Remi Johnson and Dagne Johnson; and his siblings, Jimmie Scott, Theresa Bivens (Alfred) and Tammy Nees. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
