It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martin E. Smith (Canton, Illinois), who passed away on April 1, 2020, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Norman Smith. He is survived by: his mother Janet Smith (Betson) of St. David; and his siblings, Tracey Smith of St. David, Debra Atkinson of Kansas and Angela O'Neill. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and his best companion, his cat.

“I did a search this evening to look for an old friend and roommate from college. I knew him back in 1980. Now I find out he's deceased and am saddened. But if it is him we had some great memories in college. He had a very creative mind. He loved hard rock classic music, he loved the Beatles and groups like Nazareth and AC/DC. He was fascinated by tornadoes and storms. I will miss you man. You touched my life and I will never forget you and never have. Jeff Goodwilling”
