He was predeceased by: his parents, James I. Sr. Carroll and Margie Jean Carroll (Hurt); and his siblings, Lester, Mingo Carroll and Tina Laufenberg (Mike).
He is survived by: his wife Paulette Sawyer; his close friend Karen Lee; his children, James Carroll (Patience), Anthony Carroll (Emily), Christine Malott (Randy), Amanda Rae Vance (Danny), Joshua Wayne Carroll (Morgan), Makayla Carroll (Dustin), Angel Carroll and Annetta Carroll; his great grandchild Matthew Carroll; and his siblings, Ben Carroll (John), Bobby Carroll (Jo) and Penny Cremeens (Leroy).
