He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward J. Spencer and Vera Spencer (Atchley); his wife Gloria G. Shryock; his daughter Andrea Flynn; and his brother Bud Spencer.
He is survived by: his son Edward "Randy" Spencer of Canton; and his brothers, Mike Spencer (Shelley) of Canton and Bill Spencer (Charlotte) of Canton. He is also survived by four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and nine step-great-grandchildren.
