He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Forsythe and Edna Gerdes Forsythe; his parents-in-law, Ken and Lea Freeman; and his brother-in-law Gene Filer.

He is survived by: his wife Gretchen Freeman; his children, Joe Forsythe (Cyndie) of Rushville, IL. and Crystal Forsythe; his grandchildren, Braden Forsythe, Kenley Bevis, Logan Spillman and Gabriel Forsythe; and his siblings, Nina Filer of Casper, WY, Lois Jones (Norm) of Nashville, TN. and Merle Goudschaal (Connie). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
