He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Herman and Isabel Schmacht (Horton); his son Dennis Schmacht; his daughter-in-law Lori Schmacht; his grandson Zach Schmacht; and his siblings, Rita, Carmelita, Carol, Karen, Mildred, Walter, David, Elmer and Wayne Ronald Schmacht.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Muller (Merrill) of Las Vegas, NV, Dan'el Schmacht of Cambridge, IL, Dale Schmacht (Natalie) of Evans, GA, Diana-Dea Schmacht and Denise Miles of Davenport, IA; his grandchildren, Jacob (Richelle), Nels (Catie), Peggy (Jesse), Zebediah (Veronica), Zane, Dakoda, Donell (Betty), David, Cassondra (Jake), Garrett (Stephanie) and Gatlin (Megan); his great grandchildren, Elija, Henry, Jillian, Evelynn, Eliana, Emilia, Noah, Emma, Kale, Rylie, Ryan, Peyton, Alexander, Collin, Addie, Aidyn, Grayson, Jaxson, Thomas, Juniper, Emmett, Iverson and Theodore; and his siblings, Roman Schmacht (Pat) of Flagstaff, AZ, Eddie Schmacht, Kathy Wilson of Champaign, IL and Thomas Schmacht of East Moline, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 28th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Milan American Legion (515 1st Ave W, Milan, IL 61264).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
