He is survived by: his parents, Ernest Engel and Dolores Engel (Prasuhn) of Whitewater, Wisconsin; his wife Diane Engel of Camargo, IL; his stepchildren, Steven Carr (Chasity) of Toledo, IL and Amy Gordon (Dannie) of Mattoon, IL; his grandchildren, Makayla Devall of Mattoon, Kenley and Dutton Carr of Toledo; and his brothers, Thomas Engel (Denise) of Bovey and Dr. Timothy Engel (Penny) of Glenwood City, Wisconsin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
