He was predeceased by: his wife Vera; his sibling Eustaquio; and his parents, Santos Ortiz and Pablo Ortiz. He is survived by: his children, Michael, Mark and Nancy Ortiz; his grandchildren, Eric and Hillary; his great grandchild Coen Murphy; and his siblings, Eddie, Suzy, Vincent, Frank, George, Pauline, Virginia and Margaret.
