He is survived by: his children, Mark Kurpela (Sandra) and Karen Zych (Terry); his grandchildren, Kenneth (Ashlee) and Lisa Kurpela; his great grandchildren, Cole and Connor Kurpela; and his siblings-in-law, Daniel Pawlus (late Marie) and Judy Pawlus (late George). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Castle Hill Funeral Home (248 155th Pl, Calumet City, IL 60409). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 9:45 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Andrew the Apostle Church (768 Lincoln Ave, Calumet City, IL 60409). A burial was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at the Holy Cross Cemetery (801 Michigan City Rd, Calumet City, IL 60409).
