With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George H. Brakmeier of Calhoun, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 23, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Brakmeier and Marjorie Brakmeier (Moore); his former wives, Voris Brakmeier (Garrett) and Patsy Brakmeier (Harms); and his sisters, Catherine Harris and Alice DeMar.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Brakmeier (Dean) of Calhoun; his children, Joyce Browning (Tim) of Lakeland, FL, Jodi Luttrull (Kevin) of Princeton, IN, Phil Brakmeier of Ft. Wayne, IN and Gary Brakmeier of Princeton, IN; his stepchildren, Robert Slunaker (Teresa) of West Salem, IL, Dixie Bailey (David) of Berryville, IL, Donald Slunaker of West Salem, IL, Darrell Slunaker (Lou) of Berryville, IL, Roy Dale Slunaker of Mt. Carmel, IL, Leslie Slunaker (Janet) of Sumner, IL and Brenda Powell (Brian) of West Salem, IL; and his sister Lois Gode. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
