He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Heeren and Marie Heeren (Kietzman); his grandchildren, Joseph and Alaina Fitzgerald; and his daughter-in-law April Heeren.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Allen; his children, Rev. Elizabeth Martin (Wayne) of Roscoe, Kenneth Heeren of Pecatonica, Christine Brown (Dan) of Caledonia and Katherine Fitzgerald (Brian) of Rockville, MD; his grandchildren, Joshua Martin (Angela), Philip Martin (Hilary), Melanie Martin, Harold E. Heeren, Stephanie Heeren (Tevin Jones), Vincent, Nicholas Brown, Patrick and Theodore Fitzgerald; and his siblings, Karon Brutlag (Dale), Jeanette McKee (Dave) and Theodore Heeren (Melissa). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Harold has donated over eight gallons of blood during his life, so please consider donating blood in his name. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ELCA World Hunger, to Northern Illinois Hospice, or to the perpetual care of Christ Lutheran Church's columbarium, Harold's final resting place.
