It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dan W. Akerlund of Caledonia, Illinois, born in Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on August 20, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nels Akerlund and Florence Akerlund (Anderson); and his siblings, David Akerlund and Debra Hines. He is survived by: his wife Sara Elizabeth McKinney; his children, Karna Erickson, Nels Akerlund (Anna) and Carl Akerlund; his grandchildren, Adele, Elsa, Clara, Ashley and Ella; his siblings, Karen Adell and John Akerlund (Betty); and his sister-in-law Elaine Akerlund. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to recent illness and exposure in the family, all attendees will be required to wear a mask.
