With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ruth Carolyn Ashworth of Cairo, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 31, 2025 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ruth Carolyn Ashworth to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Johnson and Ruth Johnson (Goins) of Cairo, Illinois.; her husband Billy Shelton Ashworth; and her son Derrin Ashworth. She is survived by: her daughter Amy Ann Ashworth Conaway of Charleston, MO; her granddaughter Claire Elise Conaway; her brother-in-law Ronnie Ashworth (Marilyn) of Jackson, MO; her cousin Aleshia Cron (Spencer Newton) of Paducah, KY; her son-in-law Deron Conaway; and her caregivers, Ryan, Samantha Mills, David Brown, Jody Pruett and Joyce Cassey.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crain Funeral Home - Cairo (4815 Sycamore St, Cairo, IL 62914).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to the Cairo Public Library.
