It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harriet E. Payton of Cairo, Illinois, born in Quincy, Florida, who passed away on August 30, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her children, Christine Clark-Bailey and Phillip Clark; and her parents, Ernest Wells and Helen Wells. She is survived by: her sons, Randy Clark of Elgin and Terry Payton of Oklahoma City; her stepdaughter Liz Jones (Paul); her son-in-law Homer Cobb; her grandchildren, Shontel Clark, LaShaunda Jordan, Jennifer Helderman, Daphanie Cooper, LaTosha Clark and Quentin Clark; her stepgrandchildren, Corey Brann, Letisha Barber, Kellie Brann and Donna Brann; her niece Carla Wells; and her nephews, Tony Wells and Terrance Wells. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
