He was predeceased by: his daughter Paula Ann Alford; his grandson Joshua Clary-Alford'; his siblings, Willie Alford (Tiny), Homer Alford (Elnora), Elco Alford (Pearline), Elmo Alford (Catheirne), Elijah Alford (Lena), Earnest Hobbs, Vernon Hobbs, Clifford Alford (Evelyn), Annie Belle Hobbs-Nesmith (Alec "Buddy") and Maudel Alford-Jackson (Paul); and his friend James Sharp.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Alford; his children, Charles E. Alford of Chico, Shirley Streeter (Bobby) of Union Springs, Mary Triplett (Desi Sr.) of East St, Jocelyn Grinston (Joel) of Belleville and Michael Alford of Belleville, IL; his godson Ontario "Terry" Hill of Belleville, Illinois; and his friend Joe Grinston Sr. of Cahokia Heights, Illinois. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
