He was predeceased by: his parents, William Russell and Lucille Brant Lance; his son-in-law Robert Buckingham; his siblings, J. D. Lance and Mary Lou Hitchcock; and his great grandchild Alexys Buckingham.
He is survived by: his spouse Olga Virginia Gulley; his daughters, Virginia McCloud (Gerry) of Perryville, Judy Buckingham of Scott City and Cyndi Hamelman (Christian) of St. Louis, Missouri; and his siblings, Barbara Rhymer of Scott City, Jerry Moore and Mark. He is also survived by six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
