With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karen Johnson of Byron, Illinois, born in Duluth, Minnesota, who passed away on February 15, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Blegen and Hazel Blegen (Peterson); her sons, Dale Blegen and Michael Swick; and her siblings, Duane Blegen and Beverly Moliter.
She is survived by: her husband Grant Johnson of Byron; her children, Stuart Swick (Anna Marie), Greg Swick (Erica Robbins) of Machesney Park, Samantha Riley (Robert) of Rockford and Amber Johnson (Brad) of Rockford; her siblings, Herman Blegen (Sharon), Ronnie Blegen (Carol), Ordean Blegen (Dotty) and Sandy Finch (Steve) of Loves Park; and her grandchildren, Stephanie, Christina, Heather, Lindsay, Stuart III, Shane, Kyle, Heidi, Bryant, Sierra, Jesse and Emma. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
