He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Swanson and Pauline Swanson (Dietrich). He is survived by: his wife Linda Williams; his children, Eric Swanson (Jill), Adam Swanson, Katie Schmadeke (Brent) and Crofton, MD; his grandchildren, Kylie, Keelyn, Alex, Wyatt, Zeke and Alayna; his sister Carol Battenberg (Don) of Johnson Creek, WI; and his pet Rocky.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's name can be made to Serenity Hospice and Home, 1658 IL-2, Oregon, IL 61061 or the Ogle County Fair Association, 1440 N. Limekiln Rd, Oregon, IL 61061.
