She was predeceased by: her parents, Milferd Kappenman and Luetta Kappenman (Miller); her husband Douglas G. Pearson; and her siblings, Robert and Delores.
She is survived by: her sons, Jeffrey Pearson (Lori Nickelsen) of Leaf River and Jon Pearson (Deb) of Mt. Morris; her grandchildren, Dave Crowell (Sheryl) of Rockford, Jon Crowell (Bonnie Magallon) of Cortland, IL, Mark Crowell (Laurie) of Andover, Sarah Hopman (Jonathan) of Stillman Valley, IL, Kristin Johnson (Bryan) of Davis Junction, IL, Brent Pearson (Jess) of Stillman Valley, IL and Sean Pearson; her great grandchildren, Jacob, Alex, Tyler, Abby, Charley, Sydney, Bennett, Soren and Huxten; and her nieces, Lynette Cibert and Brenda Ricke. She is also survived by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial fund is established in Genevieve's name for the Rockford Rescue Mission or the Cornerstone Family Church.
