We are sad to announce that on July 21, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Garret Zoet of Byron, Illinois, born in Rock Rapids, Iowa. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Zoet and Gertrude Zoet (Bakker); his wife Vivian; his son David; his son-in-law Rick Hahn; and his sister Henrietta (John Appel).

He is survived by: his daughter Cathy (Dan); his grandsons, David, Gary and Jim; his children, Leslie (David), Gary (Janice) and Jim (Lisa); and his grandchildren, Patrick, Garret, Ellen, Curt, Kelly, Kyle, Ben, Rachel, Megan, Mariah and Michael. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations in Garret's name can be made to Serenity Hospice and Home at 1658 S. Illinois Route 2, Oregon, IL 61061.

“My husband and I played bridge with Doc at the library for years. He was always such a gentleman. Every Monday we would see him mowing by the gravel pit. When Vivian would come with him to bridge he was so patient and kind. He was a joy to be around. They will both be missed. Bev & Bob Johnson”
