He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin B. Heap and Opal Irene Heap (Miller); his grandchildren, Jessica, Courtney, Megan Ludlum and Matthew Ragan; his sisters, Eleanor Brown, Verga Heap, Berniece Shepard and Melba Yocum; and his former wife Louise C. Ragan (Cooke).
He is survived by: his wife Faye E. Howard; his children, Ed Heap (Tammy) of Bushnell, IL, Michael "Bud" Ragan (Ida) of Manassas, VA, Lisa Ludlum (Gary) of Prairie City, IL, Candace Vickers (Scott) of Oswego, IL and Shari Carter of Dayton, TX; and his brother Don Heap of Brandon, FL.. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren.
