She was predeceased by: her parents, D. K. Sweney and Irma Sweney (Spangler); her husband LaVerne L. Hartwig; her son Bruce A. Hartwig; and her brothers, William C. and Bruce A. Sweney.

She is survived by: her children, Sharon L. Hartwig of Round Lake, IL and David L. Hartwig of Yates City, IL; and her sisters, Martha Sweney of Checkrow, IL and Donna Andrus of Indianola, IA..
