With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Daniel Mahoney Sr. of Burr Ridge, Illinois, who passed away on December 26, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Joseph Daniel departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Joseph Daniel may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Joseph Daniel leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mahoney and Marie Mahoney (Byrne); his siblings, Patricia Jacobi (Ed), James Mahoney (Mary) and Kay Tibbs (John); and his children, Joseph Mahoney, Jr. and Meghan Mahoney.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Mahoney; his daughter-in-law Renee Mahoney; and his grandson Mason Mahoney. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John of the Cross Catholic Church (5005 Wolf Rd, Western Springs, IL 60558).
