It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Lyman Shangle III of Burr Ridge, Illinois, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on December 31, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, David Lyman Shangle II and Hazel Marie Hiller Shangle (Hiller); his sister Marilynn East; and his wife Odetta Jeanette Kennard Shangle. He is survived by: his former wife Betty Jean Shangle (Collins); his son David Lyman Shangle IV (Janet) of Burr Ridge, IL; his granddaughter Margaret Gwendolyn Altshul (Dmitry) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his great grandchildren, Simon David and Lincoln Lyon Altshul; his grandson David Lyman Shangle V of Chicago, IL; his stepgrandsons, Jameson Siudut of Ashland, OR and Jonathon Siudut (Karlie) of Frisco, TX; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Scarlett and Stetson Siudut; his daughter Susan Dorothea Shangle Skivington of Farmington, NY; his granddaughter Abigail Marie Staffieri (Jacob) of Farmington, NY; his great grandchildren, Kennedy Rose and Madison Olivia Staffieri; his stepgranddaughter Harmony Skivington of Canandaigua, NY; his stepgreat-grandson Wolfgang Irwin; and his daughter Gwendolyn Marie Shangle of Jacksonville, FL.. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
