He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Andrew Butler (Calvin) and Lissie Butler (Cole); and his wife Cheryl Thomas. He was also cherished by his wife, children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
