He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert James Smith and Gladys Moore Smith; his siblings, Norman Smith (Barbara), Charles Smith (Mary E.), James "Jim" Smith (Lorine), Lillie Mae King (William "Al"), Gladys Sauerwein (Marvin) and Betty Smith (Richard Clark); and his sons-in-law, Hameed Hindi and Robert L. Hopper.
He is survived by: his wife Mary LaVerne Smith of Bunker Hill, IL; his children, Glenna Laverne Hopper of Bunker Hill, IL, Brenda Sue Hindi of Staunton, IL, Cynthia Ann Spickerman (Ronald) of Bunker Hill, IL and Gerald Allen Smith (Valerie) of Bunker Hill, IL; and his grandchildren, Shaun Radae (Cassie), Wesley Hindi, Lika Hindi (Aaron Brashears), Ryan Spickerman (Jana), Bethany Spickerman (Zach Fite), Kristina Davenport (Brad), Geoff Smith (Rachael Henkhaus), Danielle Redman (Jacob) and Jacob Smith (Justuce Albertson). He is also survived by 20 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Kravanya Funeral Home (875 S Washington St, Bunker Hill, IL 62014). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
